Whale watching is Iceland’s most popular visitors’ attraction, hardly surprising given the stunning marine mammals that can be found from this cool, Nordic island. There are approximately twenty cetacean species that call Icelandic coastal waters their home.

The most common sightings are that of Minke Whales, Harbour Porpoises and Humpbacks, though it has been known to see far rarer species such as Orcas or Blue Whales. This sense of mystery as to what you will see on a whale watching tour only adds to the anticipation.
